This blog

Bringing up the Berneys was set up in January 2017 as a way for me to document my family life and being a parent. I wanted somewhere to remember the little (and big) things my kids accomplish, and remember how they looked and what we did.

Family life can be an exciting rollercoaster of emotions and adventures, and what better way to remember them by writing it all down! – I type faster than I write, and so here we are. I hope to share with you the ins and outs of the Berney family, and bring you along for the ride that is motherhood.

Now you know about the blog, here’s a bit about The Berneys!

I’m Becky, the author. We’re a family of 5, (6 if you count the cat!) My partner works full time and I’m a stay-at-home mum to our kiddos, Lily, William and Rubeon. (I’m also a step-mum to Lily!)

 Lily is 7 going on 17. She’s my mini shadow and mother-hen to the boys! I know if I were to leave them all alone she would be making sure they were behaving.

William is 2, and don’t we know it. The terrible twos are a real thing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Still learning his boundaries and finding out how far he can push us, he’s a cheeky and mischievous little boy!

And our most recent addition is Rubeon, born in October 2017. He had a rough start into the world, with a two week stay in NICU and an operation for a shunt in his head, he is now thriving and full of smiles!
